Fighting thyroid cancer: help Riley afford treatment in Nottingham
Riley is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Riley was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at Nottingham Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Riley is 51, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nottingham Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Scans and lab work: $620
• Transport to Nottingham Cancer Centre: $1,050
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $310
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,020

Chemotherapy and medication not covered is $4,350 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
