Fighting stage 3 ovarian cancer: help Uche afford treatment in Wudil
10 rounds of treatment are planned at Wudil University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇳🇬 Wudil, Kano, Nigeria1,097 views
Uche was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in April. The oncology team at Wudil University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Uche is 52, worked as a hairdresser until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Wudil University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $780
• Transport to Wudil University Hospital: $50
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95
• Scans and lab work: $275
Glad we found this place.
