In September I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. My oncology team at Denpasar University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 28, I worked as a cleaner at a hospital until September, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Denpasar University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,750 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $280 • Transport to Denpasar University Hospital: $130 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150 • Scans and lab work: $190 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
