Cầu Giấy
In August I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. My oncology team at Cầu Giấy Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 5 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 34, I worked as a hairdresser until August, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Cầu Giấy Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,400 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $610 • Scans and lab work: $115 • Transport to Cầu Giấy Cancer Centre: $175 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $125 • Household costs while unable to work: $375 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sơn
