Savar
Popy was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at Savar Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Popy is 56, worked as a bakery worker until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Savar Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $800 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $175 • Transport to Savar Cancer Centre: $95 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $400 • Scans and lab work: $130 If you're reading this, thank you.
