Fighting stage 2 breast cancer: help Halima afford treatment in Dar es Salaam
Halima is facing stage 2 breast cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇹🇿 Tanzania191 views
Halima was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Halima is 28, worked as a bakery worker until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65
• Scans and lab work: $180
• Transport to Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center: $75
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $730
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Wishing Halima a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Dar es Salaam
Hang in there, Mwanaisha. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Swansea.
wishing Halima a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Bogra donated after I showed her your page. Take care
