Fighting stage 2 breast cancer: help Crystal afford treatment in Los Angeles
12 rounds of treatment are planned at Los Angeles University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States869 views
Crystal was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in July. The oncology team at Los Angeles University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Crystal is 45, worked as a primary school teacher until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Los Angeles University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $420
• Scans and lab work: $910
• Transport to Los Angeles University Hospital: $1,120

sending good thoughts, Micah. I hope things turn around soon. I'm in customer support myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Take care

thinking of you, Micah. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Best of luck, Micah. Looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Blessings
