In August I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Thane Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in November. I was told to expect about 6 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 41, I worked as a primary school teacher until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Thane Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $640
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $130
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Transport to Thane Regional Medical Center: $140

Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $640. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
