Fighting prostate cancer: help Michał afford treatment in Wrocław
Supporting Michał through prostate cancer: medication, transport to Wrocław Cancer Centre, and living costs while He can't work.
🇵🇱 Lower Silesia, Poland1,194 views
In July I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. My oncology team at Wrocław Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in September. I was told to expect about 4 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 39, I worked as a primary school teacher until July, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Wrocław Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,250
• Scans and lab work: $330
• Transport to Wrocław Cancer Centre: $200
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $230
• Household costs while unable to work: $440
Thanks for reading all this.

Thinking of you, Michał. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Take care
