Fighting prostate cancer: help Leon afford treatment in Essen
12 rounds of treatment are planned at the Essen Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Leon was diagnosed with prostate cancer in November. The oncology team at the Essen Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in February. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Leon is 54, worked as a hairdresser until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Essen Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Scans and lab work: $1,250
• Transport to the Essen Oncology Institute: $930
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,620

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Leon.
Sure. The biggest one is scans and lab work, $1,250. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
