Fighting multiple myeloma: help Tahmina afford treatment in Comilla
4 rounds of treatment are planned at Comilla Cancer Centre; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
Anywhere in the world361 views
Tahmina was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in July. The oncology team at Comilla Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Tahmina is 43, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Comilla Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $790
• Scans and lab work: $125
• Transport to Comilla Cancer Centre: $120
• Household costs while unable to work: $215
Every share and every dollar helps.

Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Hang in there, Joy. Looking forward to the next update. Love from Guarulhos.
Sending good thoughts, Joy. Gave what I could, wish it was more. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Joy. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Lowell.
So sorry you're going through this, Joy. Shared it with a few friends. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
wishing you the best, Joy. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side.
