In May I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. My oncology team at San Antonio University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 3 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 33, I worked as a primary school teacher until May, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to San Antonio University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Transport to San Antonio University Hospital: $370

What exactly is the $10,100 for?
Chemotherapy and medication not covered is $6,750 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Ask me anything else.
