Fighting multiple myeloma: help Deepa afford treatment in Nashik
4 rounds of treatment are planned at Nashik University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇮🇳 India1,269 views
Deepa was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in June. The oncology team at Nashik University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Deepa is 40, worked as a primary school teacher until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Nashik University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $125
• Transport to Nashik University Hospital: $75
• Scans and lab work: $190
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,210
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
