Opio was diagnosed with kidney cancer in July. The oncology team at Likoni Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Opio is 38, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Likoni Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $500 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $160 • Scans and lab work: $270 • Transport to Likoni Cancer Centre: $70 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
