Fighting kidney cancer: help Lorena afford treatment in Medellín
Lorena is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world158 views
Lorena was diagnosed with kidney cancer in March. The oncology team at Medellín Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Lorena is 50, worked as a hairdresser until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Medellín Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $220
• Transport to Medellín Cancer Centre: $130
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,000
• Household costs while unable to work: $300
Thank you so much.

So sorry you're going through this, Carlos. I hope things turn around soon. After 18 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings!
