Fighting kidney cancer: help Aarón afford treatment in Lafayette
Aarón is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Aarón was diagnosed with kidney cancer in July. The oncology team at Lafayette Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Aarón is 38, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Lafayette Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,250 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,450
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,900
• Scans and lab work: $900
