Fighting Hodgkin lymphoma: help Russell afford treatment in Aurora
Russell is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world271 views
Russell was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in October. The oncology team at Aurora Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in February. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Russell is 57, worked as a nurse until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Aurora Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $7,450 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,300
• Scans and lab work: $1,200
• Transport to Aurora Regional Medical Center: $470
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $640
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,840
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Aurora.
Wishing you the best, Harper. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick
So sorry you're going through this, Harper. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. God bless.
