Fighting colon cancer: help Madeline afford treatment in Los Angeles
Madeline is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Madeline was diagnosed with colon cancer in July. The oncology team at the Los Angeles Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Madeline is 28, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Los Angeles Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,600 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,100
• Scans and lab work: $1,150
• Transport to the Los Angeles Oncology Institute: $700
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $710
• Household costs while unable to work: $940

It's all in the list in the story. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the big one at $3,100, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Happy to explain more.
