Fighting cervical cancer: help Karthik afford treatment in Varanasi
Karthik is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇮🇳 India1,183 views
Karthik was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October. The oncology team at the Varanasi Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in January. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Karthik is 57, worked as a bus conductor until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Varanasi Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $730
• Scans and lab work: $165
With deep gratitude,
Bharath

Hope it all works out, Bharath. Gave what I could, wish it was more. God bless
good luck. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Mumbai so I could bring a meal. Greetings from San Francisco.
