Fighting cervical cancer: help Caroline afford treatment in Oakland
Caroline is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world249 views
Caroline was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August. The oncology team at the Oakland Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Caroline is 28, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Oakland Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $6,550 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $690
• Transport to the Oakland Oncology Institute: $750
• Scans and lab work: $900
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,210
Glad we found this place.

Rooting for you, Kinsley. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Oakland.
