Valentina was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in January. The oncology team at București University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Valentina is 45, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to București University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $4,200 goes: • Transport to București University Hospital: $195 • Scans and lab work: $600 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,550 • Household costs while unable to work: $855 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
