Birmingham
Travis was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in January. The oncology team at Birmingham Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Travis is 33, worked as a taxi driver until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Birmingham Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $6,950 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,750 • Scans and lab work: $1,350 • Transport to Birmingham Cancer Centre: $520 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $310 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,020 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Updates from Leonardo

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($843 in total) I made the first payment toward transport to Birmingham Cancer Centre. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($528 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
