Fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia: help Ngân afford treatment in Hồ Chí Minh City
Ngân is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇻🇳 Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam992 views
In July I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. My oncology team at Hồ Chí Minh City Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 3 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 58, I worked as a bank teller until July, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Hồ Chí Minh City Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $950 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $155
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95
• Household costs while unable to work: $140
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $560
Every share and every dollar helps.

Thinking of you and your family, Ngân. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Mumbai but we're thinking of you. Take care!
