San Francisco
Lincoln was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at San Francisco Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Lincoln is 49, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Francisco Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $9,650 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,000 • Scans and lab work: $1,350 • Transport to San Francisco Cancer Centre: $790 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $550 • Household costs while unable to work: $960 Glad we found this place. - Lydia

Chemotherapy and medication not covered is $6,000 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks, that means a lot.

  • Keep going, Lydia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.

thinking of you and your family, Lydia. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Guadalupe.

      • Take care, Lydia. Wishing Lincoln a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My husband and I read this together. Take care

        • Keep going, Lydia. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Thinking of San Francisco.

          • hope this works out for you. We're a small family in Suwon but we're thinking of you.
