Fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia: help Liam afford treatment in Dublin
Liam is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
Anywhere in the world2,158 views
Liam was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in September. The oncology team at the Dublin Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Liam is 40, worked as a taxi driver until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Dublin Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $920
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,400
• Transport to the Dublin Oncology Institute: $730
I hope life is good to you.

So sorry you're going through this, Aisling. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Take care
Sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in Kolkata but we're thinking of you.
Hope it all works out. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
How is Liam doing now?
hope it all works out, Aisling. Your post was clear and honest.
Get well soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
is there anything that isn't money that would help Liam?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about scans and lab work, advice is welcome too. Thanks for asking.
keep going, Aisling. I hope things turn around soon. Please keep us posted
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Liam.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. scans and lab work comes first ($920) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Bekasi this morning.
Thinking of you. I hope things turn around soon. My husband and I read this together. Blessings.
Best of luck, Aisling. Looking forward to the next update. Take care.
Sending good thoughts. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless
