Júlia was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in May. The oncology team at Ribeirão Preto University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Júlia is 48, worked as a bakery worker until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ribeirão Preto University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,500
• Scans and lab work: $310
• Transport to Ribeirão Preto University Hospital: $195
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $200
• Household costs while unable to work: $295
