Joaquín was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at the Córdoba Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Joaquín is 56, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Córdoba Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $880
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85
• Household costs while unable to work: $200
• Transport to the Córdoba Oncology Institute: $135
