Grace was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at San Diego Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Grace is 49, worked as a bank teller until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Diego Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $11,300 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500 • Scans and lab work: $1,800 • Transport to San Diego Cancer Centre: $660 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $360 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,980 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
