Fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia: help Gabriela afford treatment in Santos
12 rounds of treatment are planned at Santos Regional Medical Center; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇧🇷 São Paulo, Brazil967 views
Gabriela was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in August. The oncology team at Santos Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Gabriela is 51, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Santos Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Transport to Santos Regional Medical Center: $140
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $980
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $130
• Household costs while unable to work: $300
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
