Fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia: help Chidinma afford treatment in Ibadan
Chidinma is facing acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Nigeria758 views
Chidinma was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July. The oncology team at the Ibadan Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Chidinma is 41, worked as a shop owner until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Ibadan Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $820
• Scans and lab work: $220
• Transport to the Ibadan Oncology Institute: $95
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $110
• Household costs while unable to work: $205
Thanks for being kind about this.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Chidinma?
Thank you. If you're in Ibadan I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Appreciate you taking the time.
Sending love. I hope things turn around soon. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Ibadan
