Dehiwala
Samanthi was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in July. The oncology team at Dehiwala Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Samanthi is 46, worked as a tailor until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,100 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,350 • Scans and lab work: $170 • Transport to Dehiwala Regional Medical Center: $210 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60 • Household costs while unable to work: $310 I hope life is good to you.
