Lucas is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In July I was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma. My oncology team at Newcastle upon Tyne Regional Medical Center has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in October. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 49, I worked as a tailor until July, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Newcastle upon Tyne Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,150
• Scans and lab work: $1,550
• Transport to Newcastle upon Tyne Regional Medical Center: $740
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $670
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,840

Small update. $5,444 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Quick update: $1,639 raised so far (18%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($2,477 in total) I made the first payment toward scans and lab work. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Sure. The biggest one is chemotherapy and medication not covered, $4,150. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Happy to explain more.
