Fighting a rare sarcoma: help Karina afford treatment in Tlaquepaque
Supporting Karina through a rare sarcoma: medication, transport to Tlaquepaque University Hospital, and living costs while She can't work.
🇲🇽 Mexico465 views
Karina was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in May. The oncology team at Tlaquepaque University Hospital has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Karina is 52, worked as a tailor until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Tlaquepaque University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $3,150 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $500
• Transport to Tlaquepaque University Hospital: $280
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,150
• Scans and lab work: $220
Thank you for reading my story.

Stay strong. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't give up. All the best.
can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Tlaquepaque!
Thank you. If you're in Tlaquepaque I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Tlaquepaque.
hope things get better soon, Inés. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Kampala so I could bring a meal. All the best.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Kinondoni.
