Ika was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in February. The oncology team at the Jakarta Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks.
Ika is 35, worked as a hairdresser until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Jakarta Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Transport to the Jakarta Oncology Institute: $160
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95
• Household costs while unable to work: $245
