Everly was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in November. The oncology team at Newcastle Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in January. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Everly is 37, worked as a bakery worker until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Newcastle Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,000 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $550
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,450
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,000
