Dwayne was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in December. The oncology team at Mandeville Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Dwayne is 57, worked as a bank teller until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mandeville Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $3,200 goes: • Transport to Mandeville Cancer Centre: $250 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,100 • Household costs while unable to work: $590 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $260 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
