Charles was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in May. The oncology team at Yonkers University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Charles is 44, worked as a nurse until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Yonkers University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
