Fighting a rare sarcoma: help Alexandre afford treatment in Campinas
Supporting Alexandre through a rare sarcoma: medication, transport to Campinas Cancer Centre, and living costs while He can't work.
🇧🇷 Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil706 views
Alexandre was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in February. The oncology team at Campinas Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Alexandre is 45, worked as a bus conductor until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Campinas Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $2,800 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,400
• Scans and lab work: $370
• Transport to Campinas Cancer Centre: $400
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $230
• Household costs while unable to work: $400
