Fernanda was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at Mendoza Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Fernanda is 29, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mendoza Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,350 goes: • Transport to Mendoza Cancer Centre: $250 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,900 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $200 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
