Feed 99 families each week at Bread & Beans Kitchen in Syracuse
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Syracuse is running low just as demand rises; $1,550 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 99 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 52% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Syracuse market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $660
• Refrigeration and electricity: $310
• Baby formula and diapers: $580

Thinking of you, Roman. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
