The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Gondar is running low just as demand rises; $150 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 95 each week. Donations have dropped by about 47% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gondar market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $150 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $40 • Refrigeration and electricity: $25 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Liya
