Feed 80 families each week at Bread & Beans Kitchen in Mumbai
Kalyani runs a volunteer pantry feeding 80 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 80 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Mumbai market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $170
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170
• Baby formula and diapers: $75
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Take care, Kalyani. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Nakuru
Sending good thoughts. More neighborhoods should do this. Take care.
