Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Tamale.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 77 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Tamale market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85
• Baby formula and diapers: $50
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

So sorry you're going through this, Michael. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
