Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 27 families, and now we feed 75 each week. Donations have dropped by about 56% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Hanoi market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $450 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $80 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $130 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $240 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Tuyết

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Hanoi

Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about baby formula and diapers, advice is welcome too. It helps to be asked.

  • Wishing you peace. More neighborhoods should do this. Take care.

    • Sending love, Tuyết. Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.

Hope things get better soon. Shared this with my family. My neighbor in New York donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.
