Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Lagos.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 74 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 45% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lagos market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $250 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $45
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
