Feed 66 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Burnaby
Help keep a free food pantry open for families facing hunger in Burnaby.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 66 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 42% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Burnaby market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,050
• Refrigeration and electricity: $190
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,060
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
