Feed 371 families each week at Bread & Beans Kitchen in Cali
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Cali.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 371 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Cali market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $700 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $250
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $175
• Baby formula and diapers: $145
• Refrigeration and electricity: $130
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
