Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Saturday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 370 each week. Donations have dropped by about 55% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Surabaya market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $250 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $35 • Baby formula and diapers: $75 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $140 With deep gratitude, Candra

        • You're not alone, Candra. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Riverside
