Lalitpur
Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 370 each week. Donations have dropped by about 53% this summer, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lalitpur market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $300 goes: • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $70 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $185 • Baby formula and diapers: $45 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Sandeep

Updates from Sandeep

  1. Small update. $185 so far, the plan for fresh vegetables and fruit is now scheduled.

  2. 68% there. I made the first payment toward baby formula and diapers. Thank you.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($240 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
