Feed 364 families each week at the Second Helping in Ho
Mensah runs a volunteer pantry feeding 364 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 364 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ho market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $285
Glad we found this place.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Mensah.
It's all in the list in the story. fresh vegetables and fruit is the big one at $85, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
Keep going, Mensah. It takes guts to ask. Well done
